There have been a lot rumors swirling lately about the future of the next-generation Jeep Wrangler, including a rumored transition to an electric motor as well as an aluminum body. This, not surprisingly, had many Jeep loyalists worried: was the Wrangler going soft??
Fortunately, in a bit of news that brings us all some much needed relief, Automotive News uncovered that the new Jeep Wrangler will continue with its solid axle design and not transition to a more fuel efficient, lighter weight independent front and/or rear suspension setup.
Sticking with a solid axle, of course, means that the new Wrangler will continue to be an off-road beast, ensuring that all four wheels will provide traction, while also allowing it to be lifted easier and more conducive for greater ground clearance and bigger, FATTER, monster-sized tires. That’s something we can all get behind!!
