Has anyone ever had a more enigmatic rise in American politics than Sarah Palin? I don’t think so.
Seemingly overnight, Palin went from governor of America’s most isolated state to influencing how the entire 2008 presidential election went down. But that’s the way she likes it. She’s never afraid to make some waves.
Well, last week Palin was at it again, only this time she was making waves for speeding in her hometown of Wasilla, Alaska. According to reports from TMZ, the former governor and VP hopeful was going 63 in a 45 mile per hour zone while driving her Toyota Tundra.
When asked about it, Palin kept her good sense of humor, saying “I wasn’t speeding; I was qualifying.” She also went on to blame her lead foot on the fact that she was listening to Sammy Hagar’s I Can’t Drive 55. Not a bad tune choice, but I’d take some Hagar-Van Halen over it any day of the week.
So, how much did this little slap on the wrist cost her? A measly $154 and a day in the headlines. Not bad for… the sexiest Vice President hopeful of all-time?
