Remember those hackers that stole that jeep a while back?
No? Well let’s catch you up.
The thieves were caught! And according to HPD they were using “pirated” software to steal the jeeps and bring them to Mexico. Unfortunately they didn’t go in to detail about the actual process used to steal them.
Turns out it wasn’t just Jeep Wranglers, but many newer FCA vehicles were vulnerable, too.
The Houston police department goes even further stating “No matter what you do you have to realize and have the understanding that if someone has the ability and the knowledge to steal your car they’re going to be able to take it. There’s probably not a whole lot you’re going to be able to do about it”
As technology becomes a bigger part of our lives we expect to hear stories like this more often.
