Check out the sound coming out of this F-150! Sure sounds like a diesel to our ears. This was found cruising around the streets of Dearborn, MI, which just so happens to be where Ford’s headquarters is located. Does this mean Ford will soon be coming out with a light-duty diesel pickup to challenge the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel? Looks like Chevy will have to catch up!
Ford certainly has the parts to produce a finished product since they’ve developed the Lion V-6 Diesel Engine family in use by many Citroen, Jaguar, and Land Rover vehicles.
Rumor has it that this mysterious F-150 has a lightweight aluminum body, is using a 10-speed transmission (which most likely came from the Raptor), and could produce a decent 254 horsepower.
We’re excited about this news and are eager to hear any official announcement from Ford that is sure to come in the near future. What do you think this truck needs to take on the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel in the half-ton diesel market?
