The Apple car I mentioned a while ago? It looks like Apple is looking for a 2019 unveiling. Sources close to the project, code-named Titan, have talked to the Wall Street Journal, but I can’t link to that article since they require a subscription and we don’t subscribe.
Either way, other reports say Apple has plans to triple its 600 person team who are currently working on Titan. Also, Apple’s first car may not be fully autonomous.
Apple has been hiring automotive engineers over the past months also, which is even more of a giveaway they’re definitely making a car.
Just because Apple is aiming for a 2019 unveiling does not mean it will actually ship then. The “ship date” could mean after all the engineers have signed off on the project.
