Earlier this week, a South Carolina state trooper was fired from his job and arrested following the shooting of an unarmed motorist that was pulled over for a seat-belt violation.
The state trooper, Sean Groubert, 31, faces felony assault charges after firing four shots at Levar Jones, 35, in a gas station parking lot. Groubert will be facing one count of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, according to the arrest warrant. This could lead to 20 years in prison. He is currently out on bail.
Fortunately, Jones has survived the shooting after being treated at the local hospital.
