The Der Ziesel- An Offroad Chair with Tank Treads (w/ Video)

Being handicapped can be a bitch, no doubt. But what if there was a tool that helped that person go wherever he/she wanted?

Well, there is, and it’s called the Der Ziesel.

In case you haven’t heard of it, the Der Ziesel is part wheel chair and part tank, with its Pro Model operating off of a 10.8 Kilowatt battery and a 24 horsepower electric motor. As you can see in the pictures, the powerhouse chair is moved by two big tracks and controlled by a joystick that helps the driver take on a 60 percent grade in any direction.

The official Der Ziesel website says, “The Ziesel is a pioneer for mobility by combining sustainable and environment-friendly technologies with pure outdoor fun. It is the only barrierfree sport-vehicle with electrical high-performance power for fun and freedom in nature.”

Currently, the chair does sell for approximately $30,000 American, but there are no United States distributors. Not that that matters too much because 30 grand is a lot of bread for something like this.
