Vehicle lighting systems went relatively unchanged for almost 40 years, relying solely on halogen lights for illumination. Although it remains numerically superior, halogen lighting is currently being challenged as the industry standard for vehicle lighting solutions by xenon and LED lights.
Xenon lights have been around since the late 1990s and although an improvement over halogen, they’ve been constantly criticized over ‘blue light glare’ by oncoming drivers. LED has had an even more meteoric rise. The LED light bar was first launched by Rigid Industries in 2006 and as technology continues to further improve LED lights (and decrease the costs) it now can lay serious claim to being the best lighting system available.
